I think my big red flag in any relationship (even with family or friends) is when I start thinking, “Ugh. Why are you even talking?” any time a person speaks to me.
I feel bad. I know I’ve been the over-talker plenty of times. Someone once told me I talk so much that it’s “exhausting.” Not flattering, but I know it’s true — it is exhausting when someone bores you or doesn’t get you but insists on speaking to you.
It’s fairly easy to manage when it happens with friends or family. But as for romantic relationships, you hit that button too often on me, you’re not getting access to any other buttons.
